Finished Pizza Oven – Example Build

Assembly Options

This page shows an example of a finished oven built from our Kiwi Pizza Oven Kitset. We do not sell completed ovens directly.

You can assemble and finish the oven yourself, or, if you prefer a professionally completed oven, we can refer you to an independent installer. The installer can assemble the kitset and complete the exterior finish to suit your preferences.

Installation and finishing are arranged directly with the installer and quoted separately.

Designed for Outdoor Living

Designed for family gatherings and outdoor entertaining, the Kiwi Pizza Oven combines the thermal performance of a traditional masonry oven with a modular construction system that simplifies the building process.

Once assembled, it becomes a permanent outdoor oven with the thermal mass, insulation and cooking versatility expected from a traditional masonry-style oven.

More Than Just Pizza

The oven retains heat for many hours, making it suitable for much more than pizza.

Use it for:

  • pizza
  • bread
  • roasts
  • casseroles
  • stews
  • long, slow cooking

The gradual cooling cycle provides usable residual heat for up to 16 hours, making overnight slow cooking possible without continuously adding fuel.

Built for Long-Term Use

Once assembled and finished, the oven forms a solid, cohesive outdoor structure with a continuous protective exterior shell.

Its refractory components, insulation system and reinforced exterior construction are designed for durability, heat retention and long-term outdoor use.

Finish It Your Way

The exterior can be finished in a range of colours, textures and styles to suit your outdoor area.

You can follow our standard design or create your own finish, integrate the oven into an outdoor kitchen, build it into a wall, or adapt the surrounding structure to suit your space.

The core Kiwi Pizza Oven components remain the same, providing the thermal performance and durability of the system while allowing flexibility in the final appearance.

Local Delivery & Installation: For a hassle-free experience, utilize our local delivery and installation service.

    Timeline

Depending on your choice, we can prepare the oven for pick-up the next day after purchase if we have it in stock and already finished. If we need to finish a raw oven to your specifications, this can take about 5 days. Building a new oven usually takes up to 2 weeks. During high season, such as before Christmas, the waiting time may exceed two weeks.

    Curing process

All masonry holds some moisture after construction. Rapid heating can turn this moisture into steam, which can expand and cause cosmetic cracks or, in extreme cases, structural damage to your oven. To prevent this, it's crucial to properly cure your new oven.

Curing is a simple process that involves using small amounts of sustained heat to gradually evaporate the moisture from the oven parts. This ensures that when you later fire your oven at maximum temperature, it won't cause any issues.

We'll send you detailed instructions on curing your oven to ensure it operates smoothly and brings you joy for many years to come.
